Site-specific installation with suits, linen, frames at the Chinese Cultural Centre in Vancouver, 1989.
A pair of framed business suits, flattened and pressed behind glass, is installed above a set of rosewood sideboard furniture. This intervention created an altar-like stage for Chinese ceremonial ancestor worship, with the choice of these garments and the absence of the body referring to generations of immigrant expectations to acquire respect and longevity through the acquisition of economic success and capital.
